WE WILL NEVER FORGET
I was lying on a bed in a medical imaging facility getting an ultrasound of my abdomen.
Later that day, I had to go to the hospital to get my sister who was having some tests of her own. We drove down the interstate among a line of ambulances headed straight for NYC. And then we looked up and all we saw was a line of smoke snaking its way away from what was the Towers.
The Hospital was empty. And fearfully quiet. They were waiting for victims. But no one ever came.
Five years later I watch the anniversary honors and I still cry.
